It started with responding to a call from fourth and fifth grade boys at a local elementary school in Trenton, New Jersey. Our boys desired to be seen and heard through their actions, which required us to create a specific program that allowed them to fellowship in a shared space. Meeting twice a week, our program grew from ten (10) to forty (40) boys overnight. We acknowledged our calling and began strategically adding additional focus areas to the KP Initiative.
Realizing the disparity in underserved communities, and the historical impact of systemic structures that greatly impact Black men and boys, we decided to continue to build up this space and come alongside our men and boys and help them see their unlimited potential to live healthy, productive, and impactful lives.
Our Mission – To create a positive atmosphere for inter-generational learning among Black males regarding relevant topics and issues. We strive to provide a safe space of expression, dialogue, fellowship, and encouragement. We believe that Black males have the potential to change the narrative of their legacy to one filled with an unquenchable passion to serve their families and community and to successfully overcome cultural and personal barriers. We believe Black males should have the unrestrained courage to leave a legacy that will inspire the next generation.
Our Leadership – Our tribe is strategically hand-picked by our Visionary and community leadership. Tribe members are selected based on their footprints in community service, social justice, and efforts to advance the education of Black males. We strive to expose our boys and men to intellects and influencers that share in our passion to invest in the lives of Black males.
